Commenting on the “Best Fiction Book of 2018” announcement, Jessica Jarlvi said: “It was a lovely surprise. I have the highest respect for Magrudy’s so it truly is an honour. As an author, it’s always rewarding to hear that people enjoy your book. With my second book, ‘What Did I Do?’ published, I’m now working on my third novel while also delivering various creative writing workshops and keynotes. So I hope to meet more readers this year.”

Asked about the Best Fiction Book list, Magrudy’s said: “We select the books by two categories, based on sales and books we love. Usually, our team who strongly recommend a book after finishing it will surface in this category. Jessica Jarlvi’s book ‘When I Wake Up’ came up in both of the categories.”
